Dzisiaj skończyłem 70 lat życia i 50 lat przygody z lotnią!
Tak, właśnie w moje 20 urodziny, 11.04.1973 roku Mike Harker (USA) poleciał na lotni z Zugspitze!https://www.facebook.com/100084667757973/videos/178917351639378/?idorvanity=1627320814254698
Zobaczyłem malutkie zdjęcie lotni w gazecie i moje życie potoczyło się w nowym kierunku.
Lotnie to moje życie… z wykształcenia magister trener lotniarstwa.
To 2 x 3 cm zdjęcie było podstawą do konstrukcji mojej pierwszej lotni. Założyłem, że Mike ma 180 cm wzrostu i odpowiednio z tych 8,5 mm wyliczyłem długości rur. Tak powstała moja pierwsza konstrukcja. Pokryta folią 0,01 mm, na której robiłem podskoki i sekundowe loty. Dziś brzmi to śmiesznie, ale przed 50 laty to było życiowo niebezpieczne.
I dziś jest chwila na posumowanie mojego lotniowego życia…
33 skonstruowanych modeli lotni pod wspólną nazwą VEGA. Z tego 15 produkowałem seryjnie w mojej firmie VEGA Drachenbau w Austrii. Łącznie ok. 2.000 lotni.
7 konstrukcji motolotni i UL, 2 modele uprzęży do lotni, prototyp sztywnego skrzydła do motolotni…
Konstruowanie i produkcja lotni nie pozwalała mi na zawodnicze latanie, ale trochę też mam na sumieniu. Starty w Mistrzostwach Świata i Europy w reprezentacji Polski i Austrii i medale. 2 rekordy świata w przelotach w 1986 r. Niezliczone puchary i medale mistrzostw Austrii, Polski i innych międzynarodowych zawodów. Na wesoło, wygrałem pierwszy konkurs lotów Red Bull w Wiedniu w 1992.
Ponad 5.000 godzin spędzonych na lotni w powietrzu !
Dumny jestem, że na moich lotniach VEGA 16, VEGA MX wychowywali się tacy piloci jak: Manfred Ruhmer (pracował i latał w mojej firmie), Gerolf Heinrichs, Bracia Wolfgang i Tom Weissenberger, Peter Kummer, Ulli Blumenthal, Hans Kiefienger, Wolfgang Kothgasser i wielu innych. A jeszcze dzisiaj wielu adeptów lotniarstwa uczy się latać na szkolnej VEGA ALFA.
Wyszkoliłem ok. 300 pilotów lotni i motolotni, jako test pilot oblatałem… ??? lotni, motolotni i konstrukcji UL.
70 lat, czas na emeryturę, starość? NIE ! Aktualnie latam na mojej 33 letniej VEGA MX w klasie 1 Sport i do jesieni 2022 Nr 1 w Europie! To trzyma mnie przy życiu. Następny cel, start w Mistrzostwach Świata Class 1 Sport 2025 w Laveno.

11.04.2023 r. Today I’m celebrating my 70th birthday and the 50-year anniversary of my adventure with hang gliding!
Yes, on my 20th birthday, April 11, 1973, Mike Harker USA) flew from Zugspitze on a Hang Glider (DE)! I saw a tiny picture of a hang glider in the newspaper and my life took a new direction.
Hang gliding is my life… Master’s degree hang gliding trainer by education.
This 2 x 3 cm photo was the basis for the construction of my first glider. I assumed that Mike is 180 cm tall and from these 8.5 mm I calculated the length of the pipes. This is how my first design was created. Covered with 0.01 mm foil, on which I made my first few-second flights.
Today it sounds funny, but 50 years ago it was life-threatening.
And today is the moment to sum up my hang gliding life…
33 constructed models of hang gliders under the common name VEGA. Of these, 15 were mass-produced at my company VEGA Drachenbau in Austria. A total of about 2,000 hang gliders. 7 moto-hang gliders and UL, 2 models of hang glider harnesses, a prototype of a rigid wing for a moto hang glider…
Constructing and manufacturing hang gliders did not allow me to fly competitively, but I also have some on my conscience. Multiple starts and medals in the World and European Championships in the representation of Poland and Austria. 2 world records in flybys in 1986. Countless trophies and medals of the championships of Austria, Poland and other international competitions. Over 5,000 hours spent on hang gliders in the air!
I am proud that such pilots as: Manfred Ruhmer (he worked in my company), Gerolf Heinrichs, Brothers Wolfgang and Tom Weissenberger, Peter Kummer, Ulli Blumenthal, Hans Kiefienger, Wolfgang Kothgasser and many others were brought up on my VEGA hang gliders. And even today, many beginners learn to fly on the intermediate VEGA ALFA.
I trained about 300 pilots of hang gliders and motorgliders, as a test pilot I flew … ??? hang gliders, motor hang gliders and UL structures.
70 years old, time to retire, old age? NO ! I am currently flying my 33-year-old VEGA MX in class 1 Sport and until autumn 2022 No. 1 in Europe! It keeps me alive. My next goal is starting in the 2025 world championship

Ja, an meinem 20. Geburtstag, dem 11. April 1973, flog Mike Harker (USA) mit Drachen von der Zugspitze!
Ich sah ein winziges Bild von einem Drachenflieger in der Zeitung und mein Leben nahm eine neue Wende.
Drachenfliegen ist mein Leben… Ausgebildeter Drachenflieger-Trainer mit Master-Abschluss.
Dieses 2 x 3 cm große Foto war die Grundlage für den Bau meines ersten Flugdrachen. Ich bin davon ausgegangen, dass Mike 180 cm groß ist und aus diesen 8,5 mm habe ich die Länge der Rohre errechnet. So entstand meine erste Drachenkonstruktion. Bespannt mit 0,01 mm Folie, auf der ich Sprünge und Sekundenflüge gemacht habe.
Heute klingt es komisch, aber vor 50 Jahren war es lebensgefährlich.
Und heute ist der Moment, um mein Leben als Drachenflieger zusammenzufassen…
33 gebaute Modelle von Hängegleitern unter dem gemeinsamen Namen VEGA. Davon wurden 15 Modelle in Serie bei meiner Firma VEGA Drachenbau in Österreich hergestellt. Insgesamt etwa 2.000 Hängegleiter.

Die Konstruktion und Herstellung von Hängegleitern hat es mir nicht ermöglicht, wettbewerbsfähig zu fliegen, aber ich habe auch einige auf dem Gewissen. Starts bei Welt- und Europameisterschaften in Vertretung Polens und Österreichs und Medaillen. 2 Weltrekorde im Drachenflug 1986. Unzählige Trophäen und Medaillen der Meisterschaften von Österreich und anderen internationalen Wettbewerben. Aus Spaß habe ich 1992 den ersten Red Bull Flugtag in Wien gewonnen.
Über 5.000 Stunden auf Drachen in der Luft verbracht! Ich bin stolz darauf, dass Piloten wie: Manfred Ruhmer (12-fache Welt und Europameister, er arbeitete und flog in meiner Firma ), Gerolf Heinrichs, die Brüder Wolfgang und Tom Weissenberger, Peter Kummer, Ulli Blumenthal, Hans Kiefienger, Wolfgang Kothgasser und viele andere mit meinen VEGA-Hängegleitern aufgewachsen sind. Und noch heute lernen viele Anfänger das Fliegen auf dem Intermediate VEGA ALFA.
Ich habe etwa 300 Piloten von Hängegleitern und Trike ausgebildet, als Testpilot bin ich geflogen … ??? Hängegleiter, Motordrachen und UL.
70 Jahre alt, Zeit für den Ruhestand, Alter?
NEIN ! Aktuell fliege ich meinen 33-jährigen Drachen VEGA MX in der Klasse 1 Sport (bis Herbst 2022 die Nr. 1 in Europa!) Es hält mich am Leben. Nächstes Ziel, Vorbereitungen und Start bei der Weltmeisterschaft 2025 in Laveno.
Drachenfliegen ist mein Leben!!!
